What makes you the ultimate wildcat?
I embody the Ultimate Wildcat through my love of adventure and my passion for life and all its beauty. I look forward to a challenge and regard any opportunity that enables me to push myself with open arms. This makes me the Ultimate Wildcat because I do not give up, and will work to the best of my abilities to ensure that I leave a positive impact on this world. My love of people and the community is another reason I would make the ultimate wildcat, for my passion to help and improve peoples lives is what makes me unique as an individual.
Where does your motivation come from?
My motivation stems from my family. My parent’s work so hard to give me the opportunities I have and I am so lucky to have been born into the community that I live in today. My motivation to be the best classmate, friend and civilian I can be rooted in my desire to be worthy of the opportunities I have been so privileged to be born with. My motivation to make the most out of every opportunity lain before me.
If you could describe yourself in 5 words what would they be?
What’s the hardest lesson you had to learn so far?
Two year ago I left Cape Town to spend a year at boarding school in Denmark, leaving behind my family, friends and home. This decision was extremely difficult to make, and at first I struggled to adjust to the freezing temperatures and completely different culture. Although the beginning was hard and at many times all I wanted to do was go home, it ended up being one of the best years of my life. This opportunity taught me the importance of remaining optimistic and never giving up and going home. It also taught me the important lesson of independence, and aided me into maturing into the woman I am today.
If you could change 1 thing about yourself, what would it be?
Nothing. All of my life’s experiences and all of my flaws are the culmination of the person I am today. I like who I am, for the most part, and changing one thing about my person I am today. I like who I am, for the most part, and changing one thing about my personality or my past could alter the person I am and the person I am meant to be. But if I had to choose one thing, it would be my terrible singing voice. I love to sing but whenever I do it is dreadfully off beat and out of tune. So if I had to change one thing about me, it would be to give myself a beautiful singing voice.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Don’t be afraid to stand up for what you believe in. Don’t acceptingly swallow other people’s opinions if they differ to your own. Vocalise your thoughts and misgivings and share your beliefs with the world. What you have to say is of value and could help to broaden other people’s perspectives. Believe in yourself.
