What makes you the ultimate wildcat?

Wildcat is a strong & empowering brand & I believe that I could be a strong & empowering brand ambassador for the Wildcat name & an inspiration to girls around me. I want to show girls that being fearless start from the Inside. Using food as a way to nourish your body & using exercise as a way of improving your already amazing body is so important, but believing in yourself, loving yourself, creating a happy soul & having a healthy mindset is where it all begins.

I believe that life should be about balance, work hard toward your goals but have fun doing so. Fitness has brought so much positivity into my life & I love that Wildcat is a brand dedicated to helping inspire women. Having this mindset towards life, combined with my love for working out & being active is what makes ME the ULTIMATE WILDCAT.

Where does your motivation come from?

My motivation comes from the fact that I am not yet where I want to be.

Some people use images or motivational quotes to help them, & yes I do that too, but my main motivation comes from the fact that I still need to reach my goals. I haven’t reached them yet so why give up, why slow down, why get frustrated. Instead I use that to power through my workouts because I have a goal in mind. I want to reach those goals & feel that sense of achievement & happiness.

If you could describe yourself in 5 words what would they be?

  • Loyal
  • Humble
  • Bubbly
  • Hard working
  • Determined

What’s the hardest lesson you had to learn so far?

The hardest lesson I’ve learnt is that life never goes as planned. Life is hard, things go wrong, we cry, we get stressed & we wonder how we are going do get through it.A couple years ago my family lost everything we had when a business deal fell through, overnight everything we had was gone. We lost ALL our money, our cars were repossessed & our house was auctioned off, we were left with nothing.

For years I was mad at the world for letting this happen to my family, angry for making us go through this hardship. I was sad & depressed thinking this was it, this is my life forever.

Slowly but surely I realized that yes, bad things happen, but we have to take those bad situations & find a way to get through them, because the world owes you nothing. YOU have to go out & create your own happiness. From living at home in Paarl with nothing to my name, I eventually got a job in the city, moved out & now support myself. Nothing has been handed to me & I am proud of how far my life has come & proud of the person I have turned into.

If you could change 1 thing about yourself, what would it be?

If I could change one thing about myself it would be to be a bit easier on myself. I can be quite tough on myself & criticize myself a bit too much sometimes, but it’s something that I’m working on & I’m learning to love & be proud of myself more & more each day.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Don’t stress about the small things, take more chances & be more spontaneous. Don’t live your life by other people’s rules and stand up for yourself more.
Don’t compare yourself to others, no one is perfect. Learn to love yourself, you are amazing!
